About
The legendary Australian trio The Necks—Chris Abrahams (piano), Tony Buck (drums), and Lloyd Swanton (double bass)—will perform in Belgrade for the fifth time on Sunday, September 20, at Teatar 78 (Resavska 78). The concert begins at 8:00 PM. Active since 1987, this unconventional jazz trio has released more than 20 albums and is renowned for its innovative, unpredictable improvisations and exceptional musicianship. Every live performance is unique, blending countless subgenres and drawing inspiration from across the spectrum of contemporary music. As a result, critics have described their work using a remarkably wide range of genre labels. One devoted fan summed up the experience perfectly: “The Necks aren't so much a band as they are a portal to another universe. I've seen them live at least six times, and every single time I walked away slightly exhausted and disoriented. I imagine that's how Yuri Gagarin felt after returning to Earth. I've tried writing about them before, but nothing I wrote came close, so I won't even try again. I'll simply say they were fucking miraculous!” Perhaps the greatest compliment the band has ever received is that no other band has even attempted to imitate their sound—where would you even begin? “Perhaps their greatest achievement is that no band has even tried to imitate their sound—where would they even begin?” — Tank Magazine “One of the greatest bands in the world.” — The New York Times Tickets: Until August 31: 4,000 RSD From September 1: 5,000 RSD On the day of the concert: 6,000 RSD Advance tickets are available via Bilet.rs, Pub Brod, and Čumić Chillton.
