UNITY, DUALITY, AND TRINITY

In philosophy and mysticism, the number 1 represents Unity (God, All), while the number 2 represents Duality (division, conflict, male/female, light/dark). Duality is unstable—it is a seesaw, an eternal war of opposites.

Only with the number 3 (the triangle) do we get a third point—the Peacemaker.

In geometry, the third side locks the angles and prevents the square from tilting under its weight. 

In alchemy, Salt calms the eternal war between the fiery structure of Sulfur and the restless fluidity of Mercury. 

In theology, the love between the Father and the Son is manifested and stabilized through the Holy Spirit.
