About
One of the most notable ensembles on the contemporary Serbian jazz scene, Schime, comes to Bluz i pivo on Thursday, 8 October.
Schime was founded in Belgrade in 2015 and consists of Luka Ignjatović on alto saxophone, Sava Miletić on piano, Boris Šainović on double bass, and Predrag Peđa Milutinović on drums. Their music is based on original compositions, contemporary jazz, and strong collective improvisation — music that constantly changes through the interaction of four musicians.
From Belgrade clubs to major European jazz stages, Schime has performed at festivals including Jazz in Marciac in France and Moers Festival. Their work has drawn the attention of Serbian and international jazz critics, including DownBeat, All About Jazz, and Concerto Magazine. The debut album “Do You Really Wanna Play?” was followed by “Visualisation”, released on the Swiss label UNIT Records.
The French magazine HAJDE described the band after its performance at the Jazzycolors festival in Paris as an Eastern European band with a sound you might find in hot New York jazz clubs, highlighting the quality, energy, and generosity of its playing.
This time, hear that energy up close — 8 October, at BIP.
