Join us on Friday, August 28, for another musical matinee as part of SUMMER AT THE MUSEUM! Get ready for an evening of finely and roughly chopped music with Lenhart Tapes and scratch master Ljuban. The musical blender of this extraordinary duo from Belgrade’s underground scene mixes samples and loops of ethno-noise, folk, disco, jazz, hip-hop, ex-Yu rock, and dance rhythms. Sampling music from a wide range of genres — Ljuban from vinyl and Lenhart from cassettes — they will improvise live in our Sculpture Park! The performance will be complemented by immersive VJ visuals, while the one-of-a-kind sound will also feature Zoja Borovčanin, vocalist of the Belgrade-based band Lira Vega. Zoja and Lenhart previously recorded the cult track “Džamahirija” together — a musical interpretation of Gaddafi’s Green Book. As a tribute to the revolutionary legacy of the Non-Aligned Movement, the song was also inspired by the album of the same name by The Green Wings, a band founded by Libyan students in Yugoslavia.
