One of the most acclaimed and innovative bands on today’s post-metal scene, The Ocean, is coming to Serbia for the very first time. The concert will take place on Tuesday, December 1, 2026, at Zappa Barka in Belgrade, where audiences will experience a band that has been pushing the boundaries of progressive heavy music for more than two decades. The tour celebrates their upcoming studio album "Solaris," due out in late September, which marks the beginning of a completely new chapter in the band's history. Joining them are Belgian psychedelic post-metal trio Psychonaut, while Hungarian artist The Devil's Trade will open the evening. Early bird tickets are sold out. Advance tickets are available for 3,700 RSD, while any remaining tickets on the day of the show will cost 4,200 RSD. Physical tickets will soon be available at Katakombe Bar and Zappa Bar. Founded in Berlin in 2000 by guitarist and composer Robin Staps, The Ocean have grown into one of Europe's most important progressive metal bands. They are renowned for conceptual albums that combine science, philosophy, ecology, and history with a monumental sound blending post-metal, sludge, progressive metal, and atmospheric textures. Their discography includes landmark releases such as Precambrian, Pelagial, Phanerozoic I, and Phanerozoic II, while their 2023 album Holocene further cemented their reputation as one of the most ambitious bands in contemporary heavy music. Their upcoming twelfth studio album, "Solaris," introduces a refreshed lineup and takes inspiration from Solaris, exploring themes of the unknown, human ambition, technological progress, and its potentially destructive consequences—particularly relevant in an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. The band now features new vocalists Enrico Tiberi and Lane Shi, alongside guitarists Emmanuel Jessua and Marco Gennaro, bringing fresh creative energy to the project. Their live performances are celebrated for their intensity, dynamic range, and emotional impact, attracting fans of progressive metal, post-rock, and experimental music alike. Solaris was recorded at Berlin's legendary Hansa Studios, where iconic artists such as David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Depeche Mode created some of their most influential works. More than 25 years into their career, The Ocean remain a band unwilling to compromise, turning every new release into a true artistic statement. Their Serbian debut offers a rare opportunity to experience one of Europe's defining names in modern alternative and metal music. Belgian psychedelic post-metal trio Psychonaut has emerged as one of the most exciting acts on the European heavy music scene in recent years, combining monumental riffs, progressive songwriting, and deeply emotional themes. Their acclaimed debut Unfold The God Man (2020) established them as a major force in post-metal, while its follow-up, Violate Consensus Reality, further strengthened their reputation. The band has appeared at festivals including Alcatraz, Rock Herk, Soulcrusher, and Roadburn Redux, and has shared the stage with acts such as Amenra and Brutus. Their latest album, World Maker, takes a more personal direction, drawing inspiration from fatherhood, loss, and the passage of time. Opening the night is The Devil's Trade, the project of Hungarian singer-songwriter Makó Dávid. After more than ten European tours and appearances at festivals including Roadburn Festival, Hellfest, Brutal Assault, and Desertfest, he has developed a distinctive sound that evolved from dark acoustic folk into emotionally charged post-metal. His fifth album, Nincs Szennyezetlen Szép, released in late 2025 via Pelagic Records, is his most personal and intense work to date, inspired by experiences of both loss and new life.
