About
One of the key bands of the European dark scene is coming to Belgrade! Founded in 1985, at the very beginning of the gothic rock movement, Pink Turns Blue are today comprised of Mic Jogwer (vocals, guitar), Paul Richter (drums), and Luca Sammuri (bass). The band took their name from a song by Hüsker Dü, and with their debut album If Two Worlds Kiss (1987) they established the foundations that would leave a lasting mark on the post-punk scene and contribute to the development of the darkwave sound. Known for their unique blend of post-punk, alternative rock, and new wave aesthetics, Pink Turns Blue have released twelve studio albums throughout their career, evolving from the dark and uncertain atmosphere of divided Germany during the Cold War into one of the defining names of the European dark scene. Following the highly acclaimed album Tainted (2021), the accompanying Tainted Tour 2022 EP, and successful tours across Europe and the United States—often marked by sold-out shows—the band continues their journey with a new studio release and the Black Swan tour, bringing their music back to clubs around the world. Throughout their career, Pink Turns Blue have achieved almost everything an independent band could hope for: Album of the Year recognition from Byte FM, the title of Best Album of 2021 from Post-Punk.com, singles reaching the top of the German Alternative Charts and Indie Disco Top 40 lists, as well as outstanding reviews in international music media. Their concerts, from Los Angeles to Yerevan, are consistently well attended and frequently sold out. For the first time in Belgrade, don’t miss the concert of a band that has shaped generations of dark and post-punk sound.
