About
Abstract Colleagues play Bluz i pivo: a contemporary acoustic jazz quartet whose sound is built on close interplay, spontaneity and stage energy.
They take their cues from some of modern jazz's richest periods — the modal force of the John Coltrane Quartet, the harmonic and rhythmic freedom of the Miles Davis Quintet, and the uncompromising expression of Ornette Coleman. The music moves from straight swing and modal exploration to complex rhythmic structures, odd metres and polyrhythm, with improvisation and immediate reaction at the centre of it.
The four have played together for years and all teach at the jazz and popular music department of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. The quartet is Luka Ignjatović on saxophone, Sava Miletić on piano, Milan Nikolić on double bass and Anđelko "Đele" Stupar on drums.
Music starts at 20:00. Tickets cost 700 RSD.
