About
Bratia bring "Balkan Pompe Ignition" to Bluz i pivo. The Barcelona-based quintet grew out of Serbian double bassist Ivan Kovačević's idea of welding two musical worlds into one frenetic whole: the wealth of Balkan music meeting the energy and virtuosity of gypsy jazz, tied together by the nomadic spirit of Roma tradition and the legacy of Django Reinhardt.
Kovačević is one of the pillars of the Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra and has performed in more than 40 countries; for Bratia he assembled an international line-up of musicians from Serbia, Catalonia, France, Canada and Turkey.
On stage the band weaves together music of the Balkans, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, gypsy jazz and its own compositions. The quintet is Pere Nolasc Turu on violin, Victor Paradis on lead guitar, Julien Chanal on rhythm guitar, Ivan Kovačević on double bass and Eren Paydaş on percussion.
Music starts at 20:00. Tickets cost 1,000 RSD in advance and 1,200 RSD on the day of the concert and at the door.
