About
After many years away, jazz and fusion guitarist and composer Miroslav Mirosavljev, known as Mickylee, returns to Belgrade, this time with his Serbian quartet.
Mickylee has lived and worked in Vienna for many years as a performer, composer and educator. He completed master's studies in jazz guitar and jazz composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, and now teaches at JAM MUSIC LAB University in Vienna, where he is also vice-dean for teaching.
He has performed across Europe, North America, Africa and Asia and worked with musicians such as John Stowell and Ulf Bandgren. His own work covers jazz and fusion albums, music for theatre and film, and numerous arrangements. He also won first prize at the International Big Band Composition Competition in Barga, Italy.
The quartet: Miroslav Mirosavljev – Mickylee (guitar), Kristijan Mlačak (saxophone), Milan Nikolić (double bass) and Aleksa Milijanović (drums). The programme combines Mickylee's original compositions with a selection from the contemporary jazz repertoire.
